3D Printed Casting Patterns

Increase investment casting productivity and quality
With a choice of 100% wax 3D print and SLA materials for high resolution patterns for use with standard lost-wax casting process or castable plastics for ash-free clean castings, increase metal casting quality and productivity. From micro-detailed to extra-large, get precision metal parts fast by printing accurate, repeatable and affordable sacrificial patterns without tooling.
How can 3D printed castable patterns enhance your production and reduce the overall costs?

3D printed castable patterns enhance production by eliminating tooling, compressing lead times, and making design changes essentially free, which together drive major cost reductions. The biggest savings come from bypassing CNC‑machined injection moulds—traditionally a 4–8 week, £5,000–£50,000 bottleneck—replacing them with direct‑from‑CAD printed wax or PMMA patterns produced in under 48 hours. This shift removes up to 100% of upfront tooling costs, cuts lead times by 60–80%, and enables rapid, cost‑neutral iteration that improves casting quality and reduces scrap. Foundries adopting printed patterns routinely report 40–60% reductions in development and production costs, especially for prototypes and low‑volume runs.

Accura SbF contains no detectable antimony, making it an ideal SLA resin for producing QuickCast® patterns suitable for casting a wide range of ferrous and non‑ferrous high‑performance alloys, including nickel‑based superalloys and titanium. QuickCast® patterns printed in Accura SbF deliver an efficient workflow through fast print speed, excellent dimensional stability, and reliably clean burnout with minimal residual ash. The resin’s high modulus provides the rigidity required for consistent post‑processing, pattern assembly, and shell‑building.

VisiJet M2P‑CST Crystal is engineered for high‑volume production of direct‑casting patterns without the need for tooling. Its blended acrylate formulation incorporates wax and stabilizing elements to deliver strength and durability while still achieving a clean, reliable burnout. The material is easy to handle and rigid enough to preserve maximum detail, even on very small or delicate patterns. Beyond casting, M2P‑CST Crystal is also well suited for fit‑test models, prototypes, and consumer‑goods casting applications.
